Yanko classic Belgian loafer dark brown deerskin
These super light and comfortable Belgian loafers are made by the Spanish brand Yanko. This soft lined version have an upper leather made of a soft and supple dark brown deerskin. The natural grain gives a gorgeous character to the shoe. Slightly almond shaped toe.
Blake stitched construction which can be resoled, they have a thin half rubber sole making them very durable, and proper leather board heel stiffener. You have all the comfort of the unlined Belgian loafer model, yet with properties that give them a long lifespan.
Small in size, see sizing guidance below. To get the best possible fit on loafers, who don't have lacing that can be adjusted, a good tip can be to use self-adhesive leather tongue pads. Works perfect if you for example experience heel slippage, and extra good if you have a low instep. Also if you have slim feet a thin leather insole can be excellent.

Basic sizing info
The sizes of our Belgian loafers and Travelers are a bit special, and also vary depending on your size. To make it as easy as possible to find the right size, we start with the much more standardised sizes that apply to ours and many others Goodyear welted shoes. If you don't already know your size in these, you can refer to the guides below to find the base size for them. More than 90% of our customers find the right size on the first try, and in the unlikely event that you don't find the right size straight away, you have 14 days to notify us that you want to exchange size.
Once you know your base size in welted shoes, or if you already have one of the Belgians and Travelers models but are going to buy a new version, start from the following:
Regular Belgian loafers with thin half rubber sole
- If you have a size EU41 / UK7 / US8 or below in welted shoes, then most people choose 0.5 size larger in their Belgian loafers with thin half rubber sole.
- If you are between size EU41,5 / UK7,5 / US8,5 and EU45 / UK11 / US12 in welted shoes, then most people choose 1 size bigger in their Belgian loafers with thin half rubber sole.
- If you are size EU45,5 / UK11,5 / US12,5 or above in welted shoes, then most people choose 1,5 size bigger in their Belgian loafers with thin half rubber sole.
Traveler Belgian loafers with a cushioning full rubber sole
- If you are a size EU41 / UK7 / US8 or smaller in welted shoes, most people choose the same size in their Traveler Belgian loafers with a cushioning full rubber sole.
- If you are between size EU41,5 / UK7,5 / US8,5 and EU45 / UK11 / US12 in welted shoes, then most people choose 0,5 size bigger in their Traveler Belgian loafers with cushioning full rubber sole.
- If you are size EU45,5 / UK11,5 / US12,5 or above in welted shoes, then most people choose 1 size bigger in their Traveler Belgian loafers with cushioning full rubber sole.
Traveler shoes and Traveler loafers with a cushioning full rubber sole
- If you are a size EU42 / UK8 / US9 or smaller in welted shoes, most people choose the same size in their Traveler shoes and Traveler loafers with a cushioning full rubber sole.
- If you have a size EU42.5 / UK8.5 / US9.5 or higher in welted shoes, most people choose 0.5 size larger in their Traveler shoes and Traveler loafers with a cushioning full rubber sole.
When it comes to our Goodyear welted shoes from Skolyx, Yanko and TLB Mallorca, the sizes are usually comparable to other welted quality shoes from brands such as Loake, Crockett & Jones and Carmina. If you have no previous experience with Goodyear welted shoes, but have mainly worn sneakers or glued dress shoes, there are different traditions on how to grade the sizes (some indicate the size according to the foot length that should fit in the shoe, others indicate the size according to the dimensions of the shoe itself). Therefore, most people wear about a full size smaller in welted shoes compared to sneakers, running shoes or other cemented shoes, and based on that, it then varies in turn for our Belgians and Travelers, according to the above rules.
To find the right size in Belgian loafers and Travelers, you can follow the guides below to find your base size but subtract / add for each model according to the above guidance. As always, personal preference plays a big part, see the information here as guidance only.
.
Find your base size based on what you wear in other brands
If you know your size in shoes from other manufacturers, the table below shows you what the majority of our customers choose for the size of our welted shoes compared to other brands, which you can then use as a base size to find the right size in Belgians and Travelers according to the rules in the top paragraph.
Taking Meermin as an example, the table suggests "-0.5". This means that in our striped shoes you should go down 0.5 in size compared to what you have in Meermin. For example, if you have UK 8 in your Meermin, we recommend UK 7.5 in our shoes.
Note that of course personal preferences play a major role, this should be seen as a guide, not a formula.
The comparisons are our UK sizes against those of others in the UK. The brands that have US sizes as standard are compared with our US sizes, it is clarified in the table in these cases.
To find the right size in Belgian loafers and Travelers, you can follow the below to find your base size in welted shoes but subtract/add for each model as per the guidance in the top paragraph.
.
Find your base size based on the length of your feet
Although the shape of your feet is very important, in many cases you can calculate your base size by measuring the length of your feet and looking at the table below. If you have very wide feet, an extra high instep or similar, you should of course also consider this and look at the other ways to calculate your size as well. Of course, personal taste is also something that is important. Some people prefer very tight shoes while others prefer more spacious shoes. Therefore, if you have other brands and lasts that fit very well, the comparisons above can be an even better guide.
Measure your feet with your heel against a wall and with a tape measure, ruler or yardstick lying on the floor (so not by tracing your foot and then taking measurements). Here's a picture for further clarification. The measurements in the table below are approximate, and are only guidance, not fact.
To find the correct size in Belgian loafers and Travelers, you can follow the below to find your base size in welted shoes but subtract/add for each model as per the guidance in the top paragraph.
.
Find your size based on Brannock
Brannock is an instrument for measuring feet, which is particularly popular in the US and some other markets. Although in some ways it can give more guidance than just foot length, it is still only a guide, it can differ from person to person what size you have in the same shoe model even if you have the same Brannock size.
Our Goodyear welted shoes that you can use as a base size for Belgians and Travelers are, for most people, closest to being a size up from the Brannock US length size, and roughly in Brannock width size E. So, one of our welted shoes in size EU 42 / UK 8 / US 9 in the standard width F, corresponds roughly to Brannock 9 E. If you have a C or D width in Brannock, it usually works well to add a thin insole to fill out the volume.

Additional tips and advice on fit
After all, these are standard sizes, and feet are highly individualised, many people can get an even better fit with a few simple products. If your shoes are a bit too big and you experience heel slippage, there are tongue pads, heel grips and insoles, more info on this can be found in this guide. If the shoes are a bit too small, you can stretch them out with shoe stretchers, more info on this in this guide. A cobbler can also help you with modifying the size.
