The quick shoe care package
This is a shoe care package for those who want to be able to take care of their shoes in a quick and easy way.
The following products are included:
- A pair of exclusive cedar shoe trees in the size of your choice. Using shoe trees is important and helps your shoes to dry properly after use, they stretch out creases and straighten the sole.
- Saphir Medaille D'or Creme de Soins, with built in applicator sponge. The cream both nourishes and gives a shine.
- A shoe shine glove of high quality.
You choose which colour of cream and which size of shoe trees you want, read more about how to choose the correct shoe tree size here. Read more about the included products under the tabs below.
Pack content
Shoe trees in cedar wood which are expandable both in length and width. To use a pair of shoe trees of high quality will prolong the lifespan of your shoes considerably, since it helps the shoes retain its shape at the same time as they can dry in a good way. Shoe trees stretch out creases and make sure that the toe doesn’t rise up.
Manufactured in untreated red cedar wood with a lovely scent, which absorb moisture in a great way at the same time as it eliminates potential odour and deter harmful insects. Brass coloured, stainless steel parts and a practical knob, which makes it easy to put in and take out the shoe trees. Also works excellent in boots, since the most important job for a shoe tree is to straighten the sole and creases over the vamp, if you turn the shoe tree slightly outwards when you insert it it will slip in easily.
The trees are relatively large in size, it’s common to go down 0,5-1 size compared to the size you wear in your Goodyear welted shoes, more info in this guide. For women’s shoes we recommend that you go down two sizes compared to your shoe size, in this guide there's more info on shoe trees for women's shoes. You can also adjust the width with a screw, more info below.
Note that shoe trees are not intended to stretch shoes, only to retain the original shape. If you need to stretch shoes that are too small, see our shoe and boot stretchers here.
Don’t miss our excellent quantity discount with prices as low as €17/pair (including VAT). More information about this further down. You may mix sizes and still receive the quantity discount.
How to use
Make It a habit to always insert your shoe trees straight after youâve arrived home and taken the shoes off, when they are still moist, since the shoe trees are extra important at that time. If you turn the trees slightly outwards when you insert and remove them it will make it easier, especially on boots.
While youâre at it, brush off dirt with a shoe brush or wipe them off with a dishcloth, and have two pairs of shoes to switch between so they are allowed to dry properly. This in combination with some shoe cream every now and then will make wonder for the lifespan of your shoes. Good for your shoes, good for your wallet and not least good for the environment. More about basic shoe care in this guide.
Adjust the width of the shoe trees
The springy outer part of the shoe trees front can easily be adjusted in width, with the screw on the side. Below a film showing how itâs done. It's important to contract the front part before turning the screw.
Shoe cream from Saphirs top range Medaille d'Or. The cream both nourishes, protects and make the shoes look good. What's special with Creme De Soins is that it's has a bit looser consistency and comes in a tube with a built in foam applicator. Perfect to bring on trips or in the suit case.
The perfect choise if you want to keep the shoe care easy but still have shoe cream of the very best quality. The tube contains 75 ml. Make sure to always test the product on a hidden area first.
How to use
Saphir Medaille d'Or Crème De Soins is a very ample shoe cream, even if it's looser in consistency, so use small amounts and apply evently over the shoe, either with the built-in applicator, or with a polishing cloth or an applicator brush. Also good if you use this brush for the area between the upper and the sole edge, and don't forget the sole- and heel edge itself which also is of leather and needs care and new colour.
Let the shoe rest 5-10 minutes and brush of residues and bring out the shine with a shoe brush with horsehair. Repeat 1-2 times if the leather is dry or have lots of marks. If you wish to achieve a higher shine you may combine it with Saphir Pate de Luxe wax for the final shining finish and further protection.
About Saphir
Saphir is one of the oldest still existing manufacturers of shoe care products in the world. In 1925 they won a gold medal at the famous retail event Foire de Paris for its high quality all natural shoe care products, and when they started producing these they were named Medaille d'Or 1925. Also today the base products are made to the same recipes. Apart from these Medaille d'Or series has a bunch of other products, and it has become the number one choice for shoe lovers all around the world. In close collaboration with shoemakers and professional shoe shiners they continuously develop the range.
Shining glove in lambswool to be used for the final finish on your shoes. Many peoples' favourite since it really can achieve that last perfection to your shoe shining efforts. The high quality lambswool in combination with very quick movements create a heat which makes the wax react and the shine to appear in the best possible way.
Once you've achieved a good shine with Saphir Medaille d'Or Pate de Luxe or Mirror Gloss, you can easily regain it with this glove. Brush away any dust, then go over the shoe with the glove and the shine will appear again. The whole front part of the mit is made of lambswool, the back of grain leather, and a button makes it easy to roll the glove and make it smaller for storage.
