What does Made to Order mean?

Made to Order, often abbreviated MTO, means that the product is made to order with specifications as requested by the customer. The term is traditionally used in classic clothing and footwear, but today it has broadened and is sometimes used in other areas as well. The options offered and time of production vary, when it comes to the MTO services we run together with Yanko and TLB Mallorca we offer a very wide range of options and possibilities to really get something own and unique. The delivery time is also relatively fast, 6-8 weeks, which is one of the reasons (and reduced administration) that we charge in advance.

I have requests that are not really listed, can you solve them anyway?

In many cases we can solve even more special things, for example shoes in different sizes and the like, sometimes for free sometimes at a surcharge, which we agree on before placing the order. Contact us at ktj@skolyx.se if you have special requests.

What is the difference between Ready to Wear, Made to Order, Made to Measure and bespoke?

It can vary a bit between different areas and different brands, but generally speaking, in footwear you can say the following:
- Ready to Wear, RTW, shoes that are purchased according to specifications from the manufacturer / retailer and sold as stock, with immediate delivery.
- Made to Order, MTO, means that the shoes are made to order according to the customer's wishes, this based on standard lasts and various fixed options among models, leathers, leathers, sole types and various details. Sometimes personal monograms or similar can also be added.
- Made to Measure, MTM, is like MTO but with the addition of modifying standard lasts based on the customer's feet. Usually only fitting pieces are added to the lasts to customise them, less common is to also remove material from the lasts.
- Bespoke is when all choices are completely individual, and where the lasts are made entirely to the customer's feet (although usually there is a base last to start from, there is no limit to the customisations made). Made almost entirely by hand, in part because you need to be able to make a lot of adjustments with the insole shape and arch support that cannot be done with machine Goodyear welted shoes.

Can I return a Made to Order shoe?

Since this is a made to order product, there is no standard right of return, as the shoes cannot be sold to another customer in the same way as regular RTW. Therefore it's recommended to be sure of your size before placing an order, please contact ktj@skolyx.se for more information and guidance.
