How to use:
- The shoe trees are inserted after each time you have worn your shoes.
Especially the first 24 hours after the shoes have been used, when they are to dry, it's important.
- If you are to clean the shoes, start with the Saphir Medaille d'Or Omninettoyant.
- Thereafter you condition the leather with Saphir Medaille d'Or Renovateur. This can also be used as the first product when you want to condition the shoes and do a gentle cleaning.
- When polishing the shoes, apply a thin layer of Saphir Medaille d'Or Pommadier with a polishing cloth or applicator brush. Let it rest 5-10 minutes.
- Then you go over the shoe with the shoe brush, to remove excess and bring out the shine.
- For an even higher shine and further protection, apply the Saphir Medaille d'Or Pate de Lux wax polish.
- Finish with the soft goat hair brush, for the final shine.

Pack content

Shoe trees in cedar wood which are expandable both in length and width. To use a pair of shoe trees of high quality will prolong the lifespan of your shoes considerably, since it helps the shoes retain its shape at the same time as they can dry in a good way. Shoe trees stretch out creases and make sure that the toe doesn’t rise up.

Manufactured in untreated red cedar wood with a lovely scent, which absorb moisture in a great way at the same time as it eliminates potential odour and deter harmful insects. Brass coloured, stainless steel parts and a practical knob, which makes it easy to put in and take out the shoe trees. Also works excellent in boots, since the most important job for a shoe tree is to straighten the sole and creases over the vamp, if you turn the shoe tree slightly outwards when you insert it it will slip in easily.

The trees are relatively large in size, it’s common to go down 0,5-1 size compared to the size you wear in your Goodyear welted shoes, more info in this guide. For women’s shoes we recommend that you go down two sizes compared to your shoe size, in this guide there's more info on shoe trees for women's shoes. You can also adjust the width with a screw, more info below.

Note that shoe trees are not intended to stretch shoes, only to retain the original shape. If you need to stretch shoes that are too small, see our shoe and boot stretchers here.

Don’t miss our excellent quantity discount with prices as low as €17/pair (including VAT). More information about this further down. You may mix sizes and still receive the quantity discount.

How to use
Make It a habit to always insert your shoe trees straight after you’ve arrived home and taken the shoes off, when they are still moist, since the shoe trees are extra important at that time. If you turn the trees slightly outwards when you insert and remove them it will make it easier, especially on boots.

While you’re at it, brush off dirt with a shoe brush or wipe them off with a dishcloth, and have two pairs of shoes to switch between so they are allowed to dry properly. This in combination with some shoe cream every now and then will make wonder for the lifespan of your shoes. Good for your shoes, good for your wallet and not least good for the environment. More about basic shoe care in this guide.

Adjust the width of the shoe trees
The springy outer part of the shoe trees front can easily be adjusted in width, with the screw on the side. Below a film showing how it’s done. It's important to contract the front part before turning the screw.

Saphir Medaille d'Or Crème Pommadier is a very ample shoe cream, so use small amounts and apply eventy over the shoe, either with a polishing cloth or an applicator brush. Also use this brush for the area between the upper and the sole edge, and don't forget the sole- and heel edge itself which also is of leather and needs care and new colour.

Read more about how to use the product below. For guidance on which colour to choose for your shoes, here is a substantial guide.

Contains 50 ml. Make sure to always test the product on a hidden area first.

How to use
Saphir Medaille d'Or Pate De Luxe is a wax polish that gives good protection and can be used to build up an amazing shine. Use a polishing cloth and apply with light, quick circular movements a thin layer of wax over the shoe, don't use too much, and every now and then you dip the cloth in water put small drips of water directly on the shoe, to reduce friction. Can also be used on the sole- and heel edge to achieve a shine on these.

You may put maximum two layers of wax over the entire shoe, don't do more on the parts that move since the wax surface may crack. Let the shoe rest 5-10 minutes and then brush with a shoe brush with horsehair bristles.

On the hard heel stiffener and especially on the toe you can build up a proper high shine with more thin layers of Pate de Lux. A so-called spit-shine or bullet shine. Continute with small drips of water and thin layers of wax, pause regularly and let the wax dry, and brush up the finish again, now ideally with a shoe brush with goat hair that doesn't scratch the shiny finish.

Saphir Medaille d'Or Renovateur Crème is almost a miracle product, which both cleans, conditions and protects your shoes or leather products. Today it's one of Saphir's most popular products thanks to it's wide range of use and excellent properties. It works excellent as a complement to Saphir's other shoe or leather care products, when you want to clean and really moisture and deeply nourish the leather. A decent shine can also be achieved, thanks to it's protecting waxes. After Renovateur on shoes it's recommended to apply Saphir Medaille d'Or Crème Pommadier for an excellent base protection.

Contains 75 ml. Make sure to always test the product on a hidden area first.

How to use
Saphir Medaille d'Or Renovateur Crème is a very versatile product which can be used for several needs. It's a gentle cleanser, effecively nourishing lotion, and a protective cream that can give a decent shine.

On shoes, renovateur works very well to apply before shoe cream and wax, to gently dissolve old cream and dirt which has gone into the leather. Use a polishing cloth and rub with relatively hard pressure a thin layer on the entire shoe, rub extra where there's more old cream or dirt. Repeat if necessary.

You may also use Renovateur after you've cleaned the shoes or leather products with for example Saphir Medaille d'Or Leather Cleanser or Saphir Renomat. Its nourishing and deeply conditioning substances makes a lot of good to the leather.

Some also use Renovateur for the regular care and protection on some shoes. The product can also be used on other types of leather than calf or cow, and on other types of leather products than shoes, like bags, belts or wallets.

Apart from these Medaille d'Or series has a bunch of other products, and it has become the number one choice for shoe lovers all around the world. In close collaboration with shoemakers and professional shoe shiners they continuously develop the range.

A brand new product in the Saphir Medaille d'Or range, this leather cleanser gently removes dirt and stains. It is more efficient than Renovateur, yet more mild and does not dissolve old cream and wax in the same way as Renomat. Made mainly for regular smooth leather, embossed grain leather and shell cordovan.

This is a perfect leather cleaner when you just want to easily clean up your shoes or leather products, and don't need to or want to do a full cleaning and restoration session. The cleanser also opens up the pores of the leather making it extra susceptible to the caring ingredients of the shoe cream or leather lotiion, which further enhances the re-moisturising and care of the material.

Contains 125 ml. Make sure to always test the product on a hidden area first.

How to use
Saphir Medaille d'Or Cleanser gently dissolves dirt and stains, while not removing shoe cream and wax polish to any larger extent. It's' good to use to easily clean off dirt before your regular shoe care routine, or on dirty leather products.

Take the cleanser on a cotton cloth and rub with soft pressure over the area that is dirty, or if needed over the entire shoe/leather product, part by part. If you rub harder and more, you will dissolve some of the cream and waxes, but if gentle it's only the dirt that is removed. You'll notice once the leather gets clean, it looks a bit matte.

For shoes, though not necessary, it is recommended to apply shoe cream after cleaning. The cleanser evaporates quickly so the leather doesn't get wet, yet it's good to let the shoes rest a bit so it's completely dry before you apply a thin layer of Saphir Medaille d'Or Crème Pommadier shoe cream, and if you wish also Saphir Pate de Lux wax polish.

For leather products, it's recommended to apply Saphir Medaille d'Or Leather Lotion or another nourishing and caring product after cleaning.
