What are the benefits of wool socks?
Wool fibres have a natural ability to absorb sweat quickly, and moisture is trapped inside the sock. The sweat then evaporates slowly but surely through the outer layer of the garment, while keeping the surface closest to the body dry and warm, or dry and cool if it's warm outside. This is because wool has the amazing ability to adapt, warming when it's cold and cooling when it's hot, especially when it comes to fabrics as thin as our socks. To make the socks last, we've blended the wool with nylon, and to make them fit well, there's also some elastane in there.
Why is cashmere a good choice for hats and scarves?
Cashmere is a natural fibre that comes from the soft underhair of the cashmere goat, and it possesses amazing properties. That's why cashmere is a material loved by many. Cashmere insulates three times better than ordinary sheep's wool and naturally adjusts to your body temperature, keeping you warm at all times. The material is light, soft, has a lovely sheen, while holding its shape better than regular sheep wool, as long as it is washed properly.
How do I choose the right leather gloves?
All our gloves come from the Swedish manufacturer Hestra, known for their high level of craftsmanship and quality. The most common material for leather gloves is lambskin, which is soft, shiny and durable. If you want more texture, moose skins have a slightly different character, and the finest and most durable material is considered to be peccary boar skin. The gloves are all lined, either with sheep's wool or even softer cashmere wool that can withstand slightly colder temperatures still. Choose gloves in the material and lining that suits your needs, and do match the colour reasonably well with the shoes and potential belt you wear, for a nice overall feel. Follow our size guide on each product page to find the right size.
What to consider when choosing a belt?
When buying leather belts, be sure to choose belts made from so-called full grain leather, which retains the durable outer grain surface that provides firmness and durability. All our leather belts are made of full grain calf leather, both for our own brand and from TLB Mallorca. Please match the colour reasonably well with your shoes, for a nice overall look. In terms of width, 3.5cm width is a good all-round belt that works with more casual garments like jeans and chinos, but also with suits. With a width of 3 cm, you have a more traditional suit belt. For more casual outfits, you can also choose a braided belt in leather or textile. To find the right size, follow our sizing guide on each product page.
Which ice and snow grips are best?
It depends a bit on the situation outside, and how they will be used. That's why we offer several different options of grips, which should suit most occasions. Our standard ice and now grips are easy to put on and take off, and have simpler studs that provide superb grip for most snow and ice conditions. We also have grips designed for use when running on slippery surfaces, as well as really heavy-duty cleats with proper five-point studs for those who want the absolute best grip on slippery surfaces.
